After World War II,<strong>the Accademia<\/strong> was built next to the historic villa: a refined example of Italian modernist architecture, characterized by clean lines, symmetrical loggias, and a deep connection with the landscape of the Castelli Romani. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the 1960s, the complex has been home to the General Curia of <strong>the Society of Jesus<\/strong>, led by Father <strong>Pedro Arrupe<\/strong>. Considered an ideal setting for spiritual retreats, Villa Cavalletti is frequented by religious figures of international renown, including Jorge Mario Bergoglio\u2014the future <strong>Pope Francis<\/strong>\u2014who attended meetings there in his capacity as Provincial Superior of the Jesuits in Argentina. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the 1980s, Villa Cavalletti has been home to the Catholic Community for Integration, founded in Germany after World War II by Traudl and Herbert Wallbrecher in response to the spiritual, cultural, and moral crisis left in the wake of Nazism. The Community promotes a Christian way of life that integrates faith, family, work, culture, and civic engagement, while fostering deep biblical and theological reflection. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1978, the Community received the support of Joseph Ratzinger, then Archbishop of Munich and Freising, who followed its theological and pastoral development. It was precisely this relationship that led to the founding, in 2003, of the Academy for the Theology of the People of God at Villa Cavalletti, promoted by Traudl Wallbrecher and Cardinal Ratzinger. The Academy became a place of encounter among the monotheistic religions and fertile ground for the reflection of <strong>the<\/strong> future <strong>Pope Benedict XVI<\/strong>. From this experience, the chair of the same name was established in 2008 at the Pontifical Lateran University.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the relocation of the theological programs to Rome in 2012 and of the Community in 2014, the complex is being redesigned. Since 2018, the Academy has been undergoing a major renovation using <strong>green building practices<\/strong>, designed to preserve its identity and transform it into a model of sustainable hospitality. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the building houses the guest rooms of the agritourism property and the vacation rental, the reception areas, the conference center, and the farm\u2019s retail shop.
