The guides, reviews, and competitions compiled in the historical archive chronicle the journey of Villa Cavalletti\u2019s wines and the growing recognition they have received both nationally and internationally. This journey encompasses a variety of labels, from Spumante Brut<\/strong> to Meraco<\/strong>, and on to Roma DOC Rosso Riserva<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

In 2020, Meraco<\/strong> was the Villa Cavalletti red wine that won an award at the<\/strong> first National Wine Exhibition of Parks and Protected Areas<\/strong>, dedicated to wines produced in regions of exceptional natural beauty. That same year, the Roma DOC Rosso Riserva<\/strong> earned 91 out of 100 points and a medal at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Also in 2020, Villa Cavalletti\u2019s Charmat Spumante<\/strong> was selected by Luca Grippo for the\u201c6 Shades of White\u201d<\/strong>collection, featuring six labels from local wineries. The wine was praised for its aromatic intensity, citrus notes, and mineral undertones, making it particularly well-suited as an aperitif for a festive lunch. Issue No. 84 of Bibenda<\/strong>, published in September of that same year, featured an in-depth article on Grottaferrata, Villa Cavalletti, and a tasting of local wines. <\/p>\n\n

In 2021, the Roma DOC Rosso Riserva 2017<\/strong> was selected and reviewed by Gambero Rosso International<\/strong>, along with a select group of wines of the same type. The Spumante Brut<\/strong>, the Roma DOC Riserva<\/strong>, and the Meraco Villa Cavalletti<\/strong> were included in the 2022 Guida Oro \u2013 I Vini di Veronelli<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

A particularly significant result came fromLuca Maroni\u2019s 2022 Yearbook of the Best Italian Wines<\/strong>: the 2018 Roma DOC Rosso Riserva<\/strong> ranked third among Italy\u2019s best red wines, earning a pleasure index score of 96 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The Italian Sommelier Association\u2019s 2022 Vitae Wine Guide<\/strong> featured the Meraco IGT<\/strong>, the Roma DOC Rosso<\/strong>, and the Spumante Brut<\/strong>. During the same period, the archives document Villa Cavalletti\u2019s participation in the Sparkle 2022<\/strong> presentation, organized by Cucina & Vini<\/em> and dedicated to the best dry Italian sparkling wines. <\/p>\n\n

In 2023, Villa Cavalletti Brut Spumante<\/strong> was selected by Golosaria Top Hundred<\/strong> as one of Italy\u2019s 100 best wines. The same wine, produced using the Charmat method, also won a gold medal at the Asia Wine Trophy<\/strong>, confirming its quality on the international stage as well. <\/p>\n\n

The Bio Guide \u2013 Certificate of Excellence 2024<\/strong> recognized three of the winery\u2019s wines: the Roma DOC Riserva 2018<\/strong>, the Meraco Cesanese 2021<\/strong>, and the Roma DOC 2018<\/strong>. In 2024, Villa Cavalletti was also included in the Golosario Wine Tour<\/strong>, the guide dedicated to distinctive wineries in Italian wine tourism, as an estate capable of combining winemaking, hospitality, and an authentic local experience. <\/p>\n\n

These awards reflect a winemaking philosophy that is consistent with the identity of the Castelli Romani: wines that capture the essence of the volcanic landscape, the agricultural work, and the winemaking culture of Villa Cavalletti.<\/p>\n\n
