Tourism can be a way to explore a region while respecting its landscape, communities, and resources. This is the vision that guides Villa Cavalletti and the initiatives developed between 2023 and 2024 through the National Forum on Sustainable Tourism<\/strong>, Agritravel, the Slow Travel Expo<\/strong>, and the Softourism<\/strong> project.<\/p>\n\n

On November 13, 2023, the Castelli Romani<\/strong> took center stage at the<\/strong> first National Forum on Sustainable Tourism and World Heritage Sites<\/strong>, organized in Castelbrando by the UNESCO Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene in collaboration with The European House \u2013 Ambrosetti.<\/p>\n\n

During the meeting, Tiziana Torelli, vice president of the Castelli Romani Hospitality Association, presented the strategic initiatives related to the Protocol for Sustainable Tourism<\/strong>, developed in collaboration with the University of Rome Tor Vergata and Frascati Scienza and previously presented during the 2021 European Researchers\u2019 Night.<\/p>\n\n

The protocol promotes high-quality, zero-emission tourism that showcases the landscape, food and wine, art, culture, sports, and wellness. The goal is to promote the Castelli Romani through authentic experiences that reflect the region\u2019s identity, while also contributing to the economic sustainability of local agricultural and artisanal businesses.<\/p>\n\n

A comparison with regions such as the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Hills, Aquileia, Parma, the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato, Amalfi, and Pantelleria has highlighted the importance of collaboration among communities, institutions, and stakeholders in developing new models of hospitality.<\/p>\n\n

In February 2024, Villa Cavalletti participated in the Agritravel and Slow Travel Expo<\/strong> in Bergamo, an international event dedicated to slow<\/strong>, outdoor, and active tourism<\/strong>. The fair addressed topics closely related to life on the estate, such as food and wine, cycling tourism, and sustainable experiences.<\/p>\n\n

Hiking, trekking, cycling routes, trails through the mountains and hills, culinary experiences, and spiritual journeys were presented as ways to discover the deeper aspects of a place: its culture, landscape, traditions, and local products. Against this backdrop, Villa Cavalletti has shared the story of a region where nature, history, and organic farming are all part of the same experience.<\/p>\n\n

The initiative continued in December 2024 with the Softourism Workshop<\/strong>, which was designed as an in-depth extension of the Softourism course launched in June 2023. The project focused on the quality of architectural design as it applies to tourism and on the need to develop innovative and well-considered technical solutions.<\/p>\n\n

In fact, design choices affect not only the aesthetics of spaces, but also their environmental impact, corporate identity, and the sustainable management of resources. The discussion among architects, professionals, and industry stakeholders made it possible to link past experiences to future practical applications.<\/p>\n\n

From the National Forum to Agritravel Expo and Softourism, Villa Cavalletti is helping to build a slower, more mindful model of tourism, based on the convergence of hospitality, environmental protection, culture, and the identity of the Castelli Romani.<\/p>\n\n
