At the same time, Andrea Roggi’s sculpture “The Future Lies in the Roots” was on display in the villa’s park . Both exhibitions were curated by Tiziana Todi of the historic Galleria Vittoria on Via Margutta in Rome.

The Olive Oil Museum project was launched in late November 2024 at the initiative of the Tierre Group, with the goal of restoring and revitalizing the rural cottage by transforming it into a space dedicated to local culture and experiences related to high-quality agricultural production.

The restoration has preserved the identity of the building—a 17th-century structure designated as a site of significant historical interest—and opened it to the public through the use of scenic design and lighting. The Villino Rosso has thus become a multipurpose space where agricultural heritage and contemporary art can engage in dialogue.

Inside the museum, the works from Claudio Spada’s “I Pini” series explored the relationship between nature and the city, historical memory, and artistic experimentation. The Roman pines, a distinctive feature of the urban landscape, have been transformed into a bridge between the ancient and the contemporary.

The artist has reinterpreted the Roman painting tradition through bold color combinations, ranging from electric blue to deep red. The paintings have found the perfect setting on the museum’s walls, which retain warm tones and traces of the building’s long history. Painting and architecture have given rise to a visual dialogue rooted in time, transformation, and continuity between the past and the present.

Outside the Villino Rosso, in the park of Villa Cavalletti, stands Andrea Roggi’s sculpture “Il Futuro è nelle Radici”(The Future Lies in the Roots), an imposing bronze work with a travertine base, created using the lost-wax casting technique and a fire-applied patina.

The artwork depicts a Tree of Life. Roots evoke the past, the culture, and the traditions that nourish every community. The trunk, formed by two figures locked in an embrace, represents the present and the power to act through love. The branches laden with fruit, on the other hand, symbolize the future, which arises from the interplay between the values we have received and the actions we take in the present.

The exhibition transformed a visit to the Olive Oil Museum into an experience that brought together art, architecture, and agricultural production. The project showcases Villa Cavalletti’s commitment to preserving the historical legacy of its buildings while, at the same time, opening them up to new cultural expressions.

The Villino Rosso thus becomes a meeting point between the agricultural history of the Castelli Romani and contemporary art: a place where beauty endures, transforms, and continues to inspire.

Request information about your EVENT at VILLA CAVALLETTI at: https://www.villacavalletti.it/spazi/

From January 27 to February 28, 2025, the Villino Rosso—a historic oil mill at Villa Cavalletti that now houses the Grottaferrata Olive Oil Museum —hosted the exhibition “I Pini” by…

[131

post-8136","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-events-2","category-131","description-off
["GET
