AGRIWEDDING
Farmhouse weddings, the sustainable choice for Italians and foreigners.
Italy is the world leader in wedding tourism, says Il Sole 24 Ore, in an article where we assert ourselves on the top step of the podium internationally. Fifteen thousand foreign couple weddings have been celebrated in our country with a growing trend. A trend that affirms another key segment of the hospitality industry.
In this scenario an even more typically Italian trend is asserting itself, it is Agriwedding, the right choice not only for international couples, but also trendy for Italian newlyweds. Weddings in vineyards or olive groves, flowers and cuisine at km 0, an option of great environmental and economic sustainability, also favoring the use of recyclable and low-impact materials.
Farmhouses and farms thus become the best setting for the most important day.
Interviewed by Millionaire magazine Tiziana Torelli said:
“In recent years we have had a boom in requests for weddings ‘in nature’ (+20 percent), and the trend is continuing to grow,” in the Castelli Romani area, in the province of Rome, of the Villa Cavalletti agricultural estate and Park Hotel Villa Grazioli. “Couples, especially foreign ones, fall in love with our landscape: they don’t like artificial settings but authentic, unique ones, as only nature can create. We make sure that all elements of the celebration are tied to the land: not only the menu, which is no longer the classic one but is seasonal, but also the floral decoration, the fabrics, the ‘mise en place,’ the music.” The demand from the bride and groom is for an experience, for themselves and their guests. “They ask us to organize walks in the vineyard or olive grove, tastings, visits to local stores, or provide pills explaining local products during the wedding,” he adds. “Even wedding favors have nature as a theme: bottles of wine or oil, small plants, handcrafted products. This is why we have started collaborations with mosaicists or potters in the area.”
