Villa Cavalletti has long been promoting initiatives in which photography, art, and design serve as tools for telling the story of the Castelli Romani region, its landscape, and its agricultural culture.
In 2021, to mark International Earth Day, the “Earth Day 2021 Villa Cavalletti” photography contest was organized; it was open to everyone and sponsored by Frascati Scienza.
Participants were invited to capture some of the estate’s most iconic sites: the historic villa, the centuries-old vineyard, the olive grove, and the Poggio dell’Infinito, with its panoramic view of Rome. A panel of professionals from Allucinazione.net evaluated the photos and selected the top three winners.
The initiative also renewed its partnership with the IPS Maffeo Pantaleoni in Frascati, involving students from the Tourism Hospitality, Cultural and Performing Arts Services, and Commercial Services programs in the Cross-Curricular Skills and Career Guidance Programs. Photography has thus become a tool for observing the landscape, stimulating young people’s creativity, and promoting greater awareness of environmental protection.
In 2025, art took center stage once again with the group exhibition “Silence, the Olive Trees Whisper, ” which opened on March 19 at the Museo dell’Olio – Villino Rosso in Villa Cavalletti and was curated by Tiziana Todi.
Olive trees—symbols of peace, resilience, and remembrance—have been interpreted through different techniques and artistic styles by five artists: Tiziana Befani, Maria Rita Gravina, Fabio Santoro, Renata Solimini, and Claudio Spada. The works have captured the power and spirituality of trees, which for centuries have been a central presence in Mediterranean art and culture. Choosing Father’s Day for the inauguration reinforced the connection to our roots, to care, and to continuity across generations.
The dialogue with design continued during Milan Design Week 2025. From April 8 to 13, Villa Cavalletti’s products were showcased as part of “Canale a Colori: Light, Water, Matter, ” an event held at Alzaia Naviglio Grande.
The Fuorisalone program featured themed evenings and live broadcasts from Radio Bruno, with interviews interspersed with IoArch’s cocktail receptions, accompanied by wines from Villa Cavalletti. A convergence of creativity, communication, and food and wine culture that brought the estate’s identity to one of the most important events dedicated to contemporary design.
From photography contests to art exhibitions, all the way to Milan Design Week, Villa Cavalletti weaves a narrative in which landscape, creativity, and agricultural production come together to tell the story of the Castelli Romani’s identity.
