Introducing Affresco, the Bianco Lazio IGT from Villa Cavalletti

Let’s Celebrate the Beauty of the Frescoes at Villa Grazioli

with wine from the Villa Cavalletti Historic Estate

Set among the hills of the Castelli Romani, where history, landscape, and wine culture have been intertwined for centuries,“Affresco”is born—the new Lazio Bianco IGT from Villa Grazioli, produced directly at the Villa Cavalletti estate.

A wine that has its roots in the estate’s historic vineyard and marks the return of a noble grape variety— Viognier—which was cultivated in the past and has now been rediscovered through careful research and development.

“Affresco” is the result of two years of research and experimentation, with the goal of transforming the elegance and harmony of the frescoes at Villa Grazioli into wine. This project fosters an ongoing dialogue between art, architecture, and the local territory—a concept also captured on the label, which features Bacchus from the famous Pannini Gallery: an iconic symbol that serves as a visual expression of the wine itself.

In the glass, “Affresco” displays a bright golden-yellow color and a refined aromatic profile, characterized by notes of white flowers, ripe yellow fruit, and subtle aromatic nuances. On the palate, it is smooth, enveloping, and well-structured, supported by a balanced freshness that complements its elegance. The blend, composed of 70% Trebbiano and 30% Viognier, expresses a perfect synthesis of Lazio tradition and contemporary innovation.

Ideal with spicy dishes, shellfish, grilled fish, and goat cheese, “Affresco” offers a fresh take on the wines of the Castelli Romani, successfully blending regional character with aesthetic sensibility.

The official preview took place at Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, as part of the tasting seminar “Villa Cavalletti: The Beauty of the Castelli Romani,” in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Foundation, in 2026.
