Olio et Amo Awards 2021–2025

From the heart of the Tierre Organic Farm comes Olio et Amo, Villa Cavalletti’s organic extra virgin olive oil. Produced in the Castelli Romani region from centuries-old olive trees, it has earned national and international accolades over the years that attest to the quality of the olives, the care taken in its production, and its connection to the local territory.

The year 2021 marked two significant achievements. At the Japan Olive Oil Prize, one of the international competitions dedicated to the organoleptic and quality characteristics of olive oil, Olio et Amo won the Gold Medal. The product was selected from among approximately 500 brands from 20 countries by an internationally recognized jury.

That same year, Villa Cavalletti took third place in the second edition of the Oro Verde competition, organized to promote the olive groves and olive oils of the provinces of Rome and Frosinone. Among the thirty-seven participating producers, Olio et Amo took third place. The sample submitted was described as a blend of Itrana, Frantoio, Rosciola, and Leccino.

In 2024, Villa Cavalletti was included in Slow Food Italia’s Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils, dedicated to the best Italian olive growers. The farm was recognized for the quality of its production among 686 farms and 1,071 selected oils. Its inclusion in the guide is also linked to its involvement in the Slow Food Presidium for Centuries-Old Olive Trees, which protects the environmental, agricultural, and landscape heritage represented by historic olive groves.

Another international achievement came with the BIOL Novello 2024 competition, a contest dedicated to organic extra virgin olive oil. Olio et Amo Villa Cavalletti received the gold medal, an award announced in January 2025.

In 2025, Villa Cavalletti was once again included in Slow Food Italia’s Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils, confirming the continuity of its commitment to organic olive production and the promotion of the Castelli Romani region.

That same year also brought confirmation from Gambero Rosso’s *Oli d’Italia* guide, which awarded accolades to three of the company’s olive oils:

  • Olio et Amo Oliveto Villa Cavalletti Organic: Two Red Leaves;
  • Olio et Amo Villa Cavalletti Organic Gold Selection: Two Leaves;
  • Tusculum IGP Organic Olive Oil from Rome: “Una Foglia.”

From the Gold Medal won in Japan to the accolades from leading Italian guides, Olio et Amo’s journey from 2021 to 2025 reflects a production process rooted in organic farming, the preservation of centuries-old olive trees, and respect for Villa Cavalletti’s agricultural identity.
